The High School Counselor, Patti Hurt, serves all High School students in a variety of ways. Every student will meet with the counselor at least once during the school year. Students will discuss class choices, PSAT, ACT, SAT, college options/choices, college scholarships and any other matters of interest. Students can make an appointment for any reason - personal or school related.
The Counselor is also available to meet with parents to provide guidance, counseling and facilitate communication. To make an appointment, parents may call 972-447-0532 ext. 341.

2010 PSAT/SAT Preparation Classes
Prince of Peace SAT Preparation Class Mr. Urs Seiler and Mrs. Kristin Beckham will be teaching the class co-operatively to both Prince of Peace students and students who enroll from other schools: Mr. Seiler will teach the math skills while Mrs. Beckham will teach the reading and writing skills. This class will prepare students for the exam dates beginning in October 2010 and ending in June 2011.
The cost of the class is $595.00 which includes seven three hour sessions, student centered instruction by certified and experienced teachers, an SAT prep book, a snack, and a guarantee that your student will improve his/her overall score from the beginning of the course to the end of the course.
In addition, as the alumni of previous SAT courses continue their studies, they are always welcome to come back and take further practice exams during sessions1 and 6. We will continue to score these tests and provide students with feedback.
The following are the sessions dates and times:
Session 1 Saturday, September 11 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Session 2 Saturday, September 18 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Session 3 Saturday, September 25 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Session 4 Saturday, October 2 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm October 9 is an Official SAT Test date so we will not meet
Session 5 Saturday, October 16 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Session 6 Saturday, October 23 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Session 7 Saturday, October 30 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
In order to ensure success, students are expected to attend every session and to complete every assignment. The deadline to register for this class is Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Space is limited to ensure a small class size.
Trinity Christian Academy SAT Preparation Class Trinity Christian Academy will again be sponsoring a PSAT/SAT preparation course. The course will offer nine Sunday afternoon sessions each two hours in length. Mr. Kent Pendleton, Mr. Chuck Burdette and Mrs. Jane Rodgers from the TCA faculty will be teaching these classes. All have extensive experience in SAT preparation. The dates listed below offer time to prepare for the October PSAT and then continue the momentum to complete the SAT in December and January for the juniors.
The cost of the course will be $195.00 (includes cost of study guide). Enrollment is limited. If you are interested in participating in this class, please register by going to the TCA website, , and look under College Guidance in the Upper School area. Click on the PSAT/SAT Prep Course link and register. Please mail your check for $195.00, payable to Trinity Christian Academy and send to: TCA Guidance Office, 17001 Addison Road, Addison, Texas 75001-5096. On the first day of class, students should report to the foyer of the TCA Upper School Building.
